How to Connect Your Square Account to TACTTIX

Connecting your Square account allows TACTTIX to process all your Event ticket sales directly into your own bank account. You get 100% of the sale, instantly. No fee. This guide will walk you through the two-part process: getting your credentials from Square and entering them into TACTTIX.

Part 1: Get Your Credentials from the Square Developer Dashboard

First, you need to create an “application” within your Square account. This is perfectly safe and is Square’s standard method for allowing other platforms like TACTTIX to connect securely.

1. Log In to the Developer Dashboard:
   • Open your web browser and go to the Square Developer Dashboard.
   • Log in using your existing Square account credentials.
2. Create a New Application:
   • In the top right corner, click the + Create an Application button.
   • You will be asked to name your application. We recommend naming it TACTTIX Integration for clarity. Agree to the terms and click Create Application.
3. Open Your New Application:
   • You will now see your new application in the dashboard. Click Open to access its settings.
4. Find Your Access Token:
   • On the left-hand menu of your application’s dashboard, click on the Credentials tab.
   • You will see two environments: Sandbox (for testing) and Production (for real, live payments).
   • For live events, use the Production tab. Under the “Production Access Token” section, click Show.
   • Copy the long string of characters that appears. This is your Production Access Token.
5. Find Your Location ID:
   • On the left-hand menu, click on the Locations tab.
   • You will see a list of your business locations registered with Square. Most businesses will only have one.
   • Under the location name, you will find the Location ID.
   • Copy this ID. It tells TACTTIX which of your physical locations should receive the funds.

You now have the two pieces of information you need: your Access Token and your Location ID.

Part 2: Enter Your Square Credentials into TACTTIX

Now, let’s add the credentials you just copied into your TACTTIX settings.

1. Log in to your TACTTIX Dashboard.
2. Navigate to Settings:
   • Find the Settings section in your main menu (You must be logged in with an account that has ‘Settings’ access).
3. Enable and Enter Credentials:
   • Find the setting labeled “Enable Square Payment Integration?” and click the slider to enable it.
   • You will see two fields: one for your Access Token and one for your Location ID.
   • Carefully paste the Access Token you copied from Square into the “Production Access Token” field.
   • Paste the Location ID you copied into the “Production Location ID” field.
   • If you would like to have the Sandbox available for testing your integration, repeat these steps for the Sandbox section of the application.
4. Save Your Settings:
   • Click the Save Settings button to finalize the connection.

That’s it! Your TACTTIX account is now fully integrated with your Square account. Your event sales will be processed through your Square account, and the funds will be deposited according to your Square deposit schedule. 👍
